Where’s the Dynamic Domme?

Putting character archetypes aside, there are two types of characters at the most basic level: static and dynamic. The static character has little deviation throughout the story while the dynamic character undergoes a journey that dramatically changes them. An example of this is in The Wizard of OZ. Dorothy starts out in search of the perfect place. She realizes by the end of the story that what she needs to be happy is already in her possession. The Wicked Witch of the West doesn’t change. She remains static throughout the story in order to provide Dorothy and the rest of her gang with an important lesson in life.

I bring this up because I’ve noticed that almost all femdom erotica presents the dynamic submissive and static domme. Actually, this is probably true for almost all BDSM works regardless of which gender is doing the submitting or dominating. I’ve been guilty of this myself. Looking back on my stories, all of them feature dynamic submissive men and static dominant women. And yes, there is personal insight and growth by the dommes in my stories. But I’m talking about true change that shows a regular girl discovering the alpha female inside of her. I know such stories exist, but in my own readings of the genre, they are very rare.

So why is this? Do we honestly think that dominant women crawled out of the womb spanking the doctor instead of the other way around?

There may be no definitive answers, but about a month ago, I started work on Housewife to Dominatrix, which follows a docile housewife who is forced to take a job as a dominatrix after her husband is laid off and can’t find work. Both Claire and her husband are dynamic characters in this story. Now that I’m 50k words into the story, I have a few possible reasons as to why the static domme is so common.

There’s the popular belief that submissive men want to view the domme as an enigmatic woman of supernatural confidence and that pulling back the covers to reveal the real person behind the faux leather and latex ruins his fantasy. Borrowing from colloquial British vernacular, I think this is mostly rubbish. If done correctly, uncovering the complexities of a domme adds to her allure.

Claire, the story’s protagonist, lives in the heart of conservative America with God-fearing families where men work and women stay at home. I know this setting well. I grew up in a small town in Kentucky where loving female authority and matriarchy constructs were either non-existent or hidden. I know how strong a person has to be to overcome that cognitive dissonance. I hope by the end of the story, I’ve shown that Claire is anything but the docile housewife. She faces prejudice, her husband’s resistances, sexual mores, and her own identity crisis.

To assume a dominatrix is born a domme may be sexy, but it’s also kind of cheap. Imagine saying a slave who submits wholly to his mistress did so without years of dedication and hard work or personal insight. That’s the fast food, supersized, have-it-your-way variety of BDSM. The truth about submission and domination is that it requires an incredible level of trust and effort from all parties involved. There are setbacks, mistakes, and frustrations. It’s why real life stories of long-term BDSM relationships are so exceedingly rare. If you think a traditional marriage is tough, try one based on power exchange.

Without giving too much more away, I’ll let you be the judge of how well I’ve done when the book comes out. I hate giving dates, but I’ll say a month from now as rough estimate. I’m thinking this story has another 30K words to go.

I do want to reveal this: Mistress Lin and Peter Schmidt from Claiming the CEO will make an appearance. Housewife to Dominatrix occurs several years before Claiming the CEO, and in it we get to see how the world-renowned Mistress Lin first met Peter Schmidt. I have lots of plans to explore these characters further. Rose, the head domme in Housewife to Dominatrix and the woman who acts as Claire’s guide, has her own journey to share from growing up in a trailer park to running the hottest BDSM club in the city. I briefly discuss this in Housewife to Dominatrix, but I’ve realized that it’s a book on its own.

I’ll keep you guys up to date as I continue writing. As always, thanks for all of your support.

Pegged by the Officer Live!

Pegged (5)

Hey, everyone! If you aren’t on my mailing list, just wanted to let you know that my next story Pegged by the Officer has gone live on Amazon and is available for $2.99. It’s femdom erotica in a horror style. Just as a warning, this one is more hardcore than say, Room 407. I think it’s best comparable to Alternative Therapy. There’s a good rich story surrounding the characters that I think you’ll enjoy. I’m not a big fan of femdom that only has a hot chick demanding she be referred to as mistress before unleashing a furry of nonstop sadism, so I try to give you more than just a series of fetishes. Product description below.

Clyde and his buddies may think they can cruise a Texas roadways smokin’ dope and playing that hippy music, but this ain’t Woodstock. Officer Sinclair is out in force, looking to bust naughty college students who think drugs are cool. Finding fifty pounds of Mexico’s finest, she’s taking these potheads downtown where they can learn an important lesson about authority. These boys are about to find out that everything really is bigger in Texas—even the strap-ons.

17,000 words of hardcore female domination. Fetishes: Caning, CBT, Feminization, Strap-on. Yeah, that means adults only.

Fetish Factory

If any of you guys are ever down in the South Florida area, you should check out Fetish Factory. It’s one of the coolest fetish-themed stores I’ve ever been to. They’re basically a Walmart for BDSM.

They also throw some huge fetish parties that can get pretty wild. I went to one a few years back in downtown Fort Lauderdale. I’ll just say that party gave me enough writing ideas for about the next decade. 🙂

If you aren’t in the area, they do have an online store. Some of their stuff if is a little expensive, but it’s all high quality and really hard to find items. I’ve order some things off of Amazon that looks great in the photos but is of terrible quality when I pull it out of the box.

And for the record, I have no affiliation with Fetish Factory or friends working there. I just thought I’d pass on a cool place I’ve shopped at in the past to pick up fetish gear.

If you’re cost conscious, eBay has some great sellers at very low prices, but you have to be careful who you buy from.

Next Week’s Release

I’m working hard to get Pegged by the Officer out by the next week. Right now it’s being edited. As soon as I get it back, I’ll make a couple of passes through it again and publish the sucker. My eleven-month-old son got sick this week, so now everyone in the house is sick too. It’s slowing me down a little bit, but I got a few thousand words out today on the next book Housewife to Dominatrix. I’m about 11k words in. I’m thinking it’s going to be at least 50k or 60k words.

Here’s the cover and book description for Pegged by the Officer. Hope you guys like it.

Claiming the CEO is now live

Claiming the CEO is now live for purchase at Amazon. 60k words or about 180 pages.

Peter has everything. As CEO of a Fortune 100 company, his handsome face routinely graces the cover of Fortune. He dates movie stars and supermodels. From New York to LA, he’s one of America’s most eligible bachelors.

But Peter has a secret.

When he’s not releasing the hottest tech gizmo or strategizing the latest acquisition, Peter serves the world-renowned Mistress Lin. She’s pleased with his servitude, but Mistress Lin wants him to submit to her as more than just a paying client.

After they meet in Vegas for an extended session and a business crisis alters their kinky plans, Mistress Lin seizes the opportunity by taking control of more than just his fetishes. Peter won’t surrender easily, though. The proud CEO and the determined mistress will battle in a fierce game of power exchange that can only have one winner.

What I’m working on

For those not on my mailing list, here’s what I’m working on and some (very rough) expected release dates. If you’d like to be added to the mailing list, just click the Mailing List tab at the top and enter your email. I only email about new releases and something really big like the launch of this blog. I promise not send you daily emails begging you to buy my book or other annoying spam.

I do have some self-respect.

In the past, I’ve written mostly femdom works with a few short story exceptions. I’ve decided to branch out and also write some traditional erotica/romance. That doesn’t mean I’m not writing femdom any longer. I am. However, I’d like to explore the other avenues of erotica, as well. I think it will make me an overall better writer in the process. I’m not sure how many of you who have read my previous works will be into more mainstream erotica, but hopefully it will be interesting enough to sway over a few you.

First off, I’m in the final edits of a romantic suspense. I really like this one. As of now, the title is Mission: Seduction. It’s about a CIA agent who is tasked with going undercover in Peru to gather evidence against a large drug supplier, Diego. She struggles not to fall for Diego or an old love interest assigned to the case. As these two men fight for her affection, she’ll be forced to face her past and the death of her father. Later today, I’ll try to upload a couple of sample chapters for anyone who’s interested. This baby’s 99% ready to go. Next week it should be available for purchase.

Also, I’m 72k into an erotica piece about a young woman in public accounting who gets asked out by the manager of a hedge fund that she’s auditing. Lexie thinks her dreams have come true. Brandon is one of the most successful young business men in the industry after he took over Ambrose Investments from his father. But Brandon has a rule: three fucks and the relationship is over. He doesn’t break that rule for anyone, and he has good reasons for doing so. I think I’ve got about another 20k to 30k left in that one. Edits take the longest time, so I’m hoping October, but don’t hold me to that.

Finally, I haven’t forgotten about femdom. I’m really having fun with one I’m 30k words into. The sub is a major alpha running a Fortune 100 company. In the corporate world he submits to no one. However, Mistress Lin loves a challenge and she’s determined to have Peter submit everything to her. I’m still getting to know Mistress Lin, but so far she’s pretty good at getting what she wants in a very quiet, stern voice. And watch out when that girl has a whip. Crack! I think this one is going to end around 50k to 60k words with a rough date of sometime in November.

Okay, that’s it for now. Back to writing/editing. Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

The problem with chastity belts

Purchasing a chastity belt seems like an easy task. Google the phrase and you’re likely to be hit first with the CBX000s series. If you’re not familiar with them, they’re plastic devices (not a belt, in my opinion) that are inexpensive and popular. The problem: they don’t work and are painful for most to wear. I will give the CB-line one word of praise. They brought the chastity fetish to pop culture and many men were able to explore their chastity fetishes for the first time.

You’re probably sensing a “but” coming.

Here’s the thing. Every man searching for a chastity belt desires four things: security, discretion, comfort, and hygiene. I’ve put those attributes in order by their typical ranking of importance. If a chastity belt or device can be compromised, it’s useless. If you plan on wearing it out of your house and everyone at work notices you have an enormous bulge in your pants (I’ll skip the jokes), it’s impractical. If you wake up to stabbing pains in your groin each night or the belt chafes against your skin, long-term wear isn’t suitable. And if you have to remove the device each time you clean yourself, distance play isn’t feasible, or at the very least, made onerous.

You get the idea.

Every chastity fetishist searches the dark crannies of the web for that illustrious belt meeting all demands. Many manufacturers claim to sell it. The simple answer is that no such device or belt exists.

Two basic designs are available in chastity’s cottage industry: devices and belts. Chastity devices take advantage of the “trapped ball” design—a tube slides over the penis and a ring is fitted around the balls, preventing them from being pulled through. A pin, containing a hasp that a lock goes through, holds both pieces together. There are endless varieties. Some of these devices are one piece, others come out of the box mimicking an Erecter Set. All of them work by ensuring the device can’t be removed from the body.

Sounds great, right?

Not exactly.

Slipping the penis out of the tube is easy. I’ve seen design after design try to overcome this flaw. Add-ons, such as blunted or not-so blunted points, have been inserted into the tube to make pulling out painful. Tubes have been slanted downward to prevent the same escape. While I applaud this ingenuity, they fail in their intent. It’s not the manufacturer’s fault. The penis is simply the worst appendage of the body to try to restrict. It grows and shrinks and can be bent into every shape and direction. Add a little soap and water, and it can beat the most devious of devices. Evolution probably selected these traits since they protect the penis, but that’s a topic for another post.

Chastity belts are a little better. Neosteel and Latowski, both German manufactures, make very high-tech belts. They’re stunning to look at. These seem to be the unicorns of chastity belts. (If you know of any better manufacturer, let me know.) Yet, measuring for these devices can be tricky at best, and when you’re spending over a grand for a piece of BDSM equipment, you want to make sure you get it right. Last time I inquired, Latowski requires in-person measurements. Probably a good thing, but unless you’ve got the time and money to fly to Germany, you’re forced to take the measuring gamble.

For the sake of argument, let’s assume you can measure perfectly. In that case, they are very secure, comfortable, hygienic, and with the right clothing, discreet. However, men still report being able to ejaculate by shifting the belt or applying a vibrator against the tube.

And that brings me to the point of this post.

Where there’s a will there’s a way. The old adage is strikingly poignant for chastity belt enthusiasts. In the end, the chastised sub can always cheat. To prevent this, some subs have gone so far as to employee piercings on the head of their penis (called a Prince Albert) that is then attached to the belt via a cord to make pull out impossible without bodily injury. Lori’s Secure Chastity Devices makes great use of a variety of genital piercings in their devices. Other dommes have attached electronic gizmos to belts to alert when there’s been tampering.

Yet, if the male really wants to, he can cheat. He can use of vibrator, grab a hacksaw, or just use plan old resourcefulness.

So does that mean I think chastity devices are a scam and have no use in power exchange? Absolutely not. Just as a skillfully-wielded rattan cane reminds a sub of his place, so can a chastity device. When he feels the urge to pleasure himself, a chastity device around his member reminds him of whom he’s sacrificing for and why.

But I do think when dommes and subs decide to purchase a chastity device, they must do so with realistic expectations. If a $1,500 device touches a man’s submissive soul in a way a $100 device can’t, then by all means pick one up if you’ve got the means. However, if a sub can’t keep from cheating with a cheaper device, a more expensive belt won’t solve the issue. Submission can’t be bought or beaten into a piece of hardware. The real restraint and control a domme exerts exists between the submissive’s ears. That’s why power exchange is so sexy. BDSM enthusiasts know that power exchange is mental sex. Some might go so far as to call it spiritual sex. All those surly implements and foreboding devices are tools to provoke submission. Chastity devices and belts have to be viewed in the same manner. As tools. No piece of hardware will ever substitute an earnest desire to follow a domme’s commands and chastity devices are no exception.
